What a wonderful wall art piece!! Here is a rare sized original coil weave palm leaf flat tray basket woven by the Hanunuo Iraya - Mangyans, Mindoro Island, Philippines. Baskets of this size are difficult to weave and there are a fewer weavers left that will even attempt to do it. Young males rarely pursue basket weaving and its becoming a lost and dying art there, especially in Japan and Irian Jaya.
